Very excited to hear that the ACE Hotel is moving into the historic United Artists building in downtown LA
Illustration of the changes to Harlow Town Centre
A fly-thru of the new redevelopment projects of Harlow New Town in Essex. I’m hoping they can work on making the public spaces and architecture more unique. Otherwise it’s looking very similar to the Westfield Stratford City. Let’s hope that it’s just the limitation of computer animation.

Featured at The V&A’s exhibition, British Design 1948–2012 in London is Harlow New Town and Harlow Town Center. The New Town Act in 1946 was an attempt to ease housing needs in London and develop new towns throughout England. This included Harlow in Essex. Frederick Gibberd created the master plan in 1947 and invited leading architects to design the development.
The town is notable being the location of Britain’s first pedestrian district and first modern-style residential tower set in green space. Harlow has one of the most extensive bike path networks in the UK. Since the seventies, Harlow expanded and has a handful of new redevelopment projects that include 530 eco-homes, a hotel, retail, and new transportation projects.
